Rainbow Train was a grassroots organization dedicated to providing education about elder lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people. We offered skill-based training on working with elder LGBT people.

We are excited to announce that Verbena Health is now Funded to continue the Rainbow Training:

Verbena Health is honored to include the Rainbow train content in our new LGBT Cultural Competency Curriculum and Manuals. We believe that LGBT elders are an important part of our communities. We believe that by educating Communities and health care professionals about LGBT Elders issues and challenges, they will be able to:

• identify some special issues for older LGBT people.
• Assist participants in identifying barriers to optimal care for older LGBT people.
• Explain strategies to serve older LGBT clients more effectively.
• Provide participants with resources for learning more and making appropriate referrals for older LGBT clients

To better serve the needs of all agencies, we having been working on designing a comprehensive training curriculum on LGBT issues, challenges, and best practices. We would be please to specifically design a presentation for your agency or community needs.
